Riddle O'Day: April Riddles are up!

by Lure on April 1, 2009

Riddle O'Day I’ve posted the April riddles and answers. Thanks to everyone who sent in answers early this morning while I slept in! This month’s set of riddles and answers all seem to be repeats from April and December 2008. If I missed one, please feel free to post it in the comments below (but please check the list to see if I have found it first, it’ll save us both a lot of time). Thanks!

Did you know, Riddle O’Day turned 1 year old this month! That’s a lot of riddles and creatures, huh?

Riddle O'Day Upgrade in Development

by Lure on February 28, 2009

With all of the changes that are coming to the Game Community and the numerous game redesigns, Riddle O’Day is getting an upgrade! It’ll have ranks and yes, new creatures! Check out these screenshots:

The game play is the same — start the game, find the leprechaun, answer her riddle, and then wait for creatures to appear. The good news is that the creatures come far more often and all of them (even the wisps and fairies) make noise to alert you to their presence. Here are the token values for some of the items (of course, this is subject to change before the release date):

Wisp: 20 tokens
Fairy: 30 tokens
Brownie: 40 tokens
Gnome: 80 tokens
Dryad: 100 tokens
…and more, including a 4,000 token Fairy King!

Here’s what a brownie looks like:

And a dryad:

And a Fairy King:

You’ll be ranking up in the game based on the number of tokens you earn, so you’ll want to stay in the forest to find those new creatures!

There are also what appear to be daytime and nighttime forest views (that change as you play). Having played the from nighttime into daytime and back again, I can tell you that it can get pretty dark, but the creatures I found stood out enough and the sunrise was FANTASTIC to watch. Very cool.

Riddle O'Day – December

by Lure on December 1, 2008

Happy December everyone! The riddles and answers for December’s Riddle O’Day have been posted. If I’ve missed any, feel free to post the riddle and answer you got as a comment. For what it’s worth, this is the first month we’ve seen repeats in the riddles (this month’s were re-used from last April’s riddles, with a few additions and a few ‘rewrites’).

Things have been pretty quiet around here, I know; I’m hoping Big Fish will come out with something new soon to report.

I hope you all have a great holiday season!

Answers to the Community Riddles

by Lure on November 21, 2008

Hey guys, this week’s community update gives us a tour of the BFG Research Lab and (most importantly) the answers to last week’s community riddles! (View the riddles and discussion/comments here.)

Answers to Player Submitted Riddles:

1) Time
2) A Leaf
3) Russell
4) Apple
5) Hair

Also of note in the update is an opportunity to sign up for future research events. This isn’t a signup for beta testing, but they say you might test new games in development or give feedback on their web site. If you sign up and are selected, you may be able to help shape the future of BFG!
