Treasure Quest: Riddle Awards Gold Spin

by Lure on May 10, 2010

riddle_oday_gold_spinToday, Big Fish Games added another opportunity for us to earn a daily Gold Spin in Treasure Quest on Facebook! Now, when you solve the riddle in Riddle O’Day, you’ll earn a gold spin. The reel payouts are kind of low on this, just 3 to 300 gold, but at least it’s another chance to win (somewhat) big! In addition, once you have earned your first gold spin, you can search for a shamrock in your forest and if you find one, you’ll earn another gold spin.

If you need help with riddles, don’t forget our Riddle O’Day answers page, which lists all possible riddles and answers by month. To find out what all of the creatures and effects look like, check out our Riddle O’Day creatures list.

yukon_tqBig Fish Games has added the Big Sea Games favorite “Suits Me Yukon” to Treasure Quest on Facebook! In this version, you will earn a Gold Spin when you win the game — and the reel payouts aren’t too bad, ranging anywhere from 10 to 1000 gold, before bonuses are applied. Of course, the trick is to win the game!

The best tips we’ve found were at this strategy guide. Good luck!

And, if you’re new here, don’t forget to check out our guide for Facebook/Treasure Quest users. Welcome!

BigSeaFans.com for FB Treasure Quest Users

by Lure on April 22, 2010

Treasure Quest on Facebook, betaHi Facebook Treasure Quest fans!

I’m sure you’re wondering what this site is all about, since you got here via Facebook and/or a web search for one of the games in Treasure Quest on Facebook. Well, this site is a Big Sea Games fan site, full of information on all of the games at BigSeaGames.com, including seven of the games currently available on Treasure Quest at Facebook.

Both Big Sea Games and Treasure Quest are run by an awesome company called Big Fish Games; they also sell great casual download games, check them out if you get a chance. Big Sea Games is a casual game portal in its development/beta phase. It’s not currently open to the general public, and they are not currently accepting applications to their waiting list. Luckily for you, you can at least play seven of the Big Sea Games titles on Treasure Quest at Facebook.

There are eight games available to you on Treasure Quest, seven of which were originally (and still are) found at Big Sea Games. The exception is Daily Detective, which is compiled from scenes originally found in Hidden Object games produced by Big Fish Games. By popular demand, we are keeping an archive of the Daily Detective answers, updated every morning.

We’ve spent a lot of time collecting and providing hints and tips for a lot of the games, some pages on this site that might help you are listed below.

L.O.B.E.
- Ciphrase Answers
- How to Solve Logic Line (outdated, but still may help you)
- L.O.B.E. ranks*

Snow Globe

*Ignore the stuff on the ranks pages about ‘awards’, that’s a feature only available on Big Sea Games…for now. The links to “How to Play” aren’t available to the general public yet, so if you have any questions on how to play a particular game, use our search box on the right sidebar or just ask.

In the right sidebar of this site is a Categories dropdown — use that to find historical information about each of the games. There’s also a search box if you are looking for something in particular.

And don’t forget to Like/Follow us on Facebook!

Enjoy, and don’t hesitate to leave a comment to introduce yourself or ask any questions you may have. Welcome aboard!

Featured Game = Better Jackpots!

by Lure on April 21, 2010

Starting this week, the game that is ‘featured’ on Big Sea Games will have better jackpot odds! The featured game of the week will change on Monday of each week but is always listed under Popular Games, with the largest icon reading “Featured Game”.

This week, the better odds are starting with Team Bingo.

Starting today, the featured game of the week will have better jackpot odds. These better odds only apply to the featured game of the week. You can see which game is the game of the week by checking the front page! It will be the game in the big box that says “Featured Game”.
Each Monday the featured game will change to a new game. If you are already playing this week’s game you are all set! If you haven’t tried, this is a great time to check it out!
Have fun everyone!
We are kicking this off with Team Bingo this week!

Some Big Sea Games Available on Facebook

by Lure on April 20, 2010

Treasure Quest on Facebook, betaBig Fish Games has rolled out a Facebook game application called Treasure Quest. The application features eight games, seven of which are direct ports from Big Sea Games:

* The Daily Detective
* Fairway Solitaire
* Riddle O’Day
* Thunderbolt 21
* L.O.B.E.
* Unwell Mel
* Plunder
* Snow Globe

Each day, you will be given goals to complete and when you do, you’ll earn a treasure chest. Inside the treasure chest is experience points and gold.

Experience points are bragging rights — after trying out three quick games in about 15 minutes (the two for the goals and the Daily Detective), I earned level two and 357 gold. As you reach higher levels, you earn more bonuses — for example at level 4 you’ll earn 5% more in treasure chests and at level 7 you’ll earn 5% more on Gold Spins. Fun!

The gold is used to purchase clothing for your avatar and additional levels of some of the games. As far as I can tell, the purchasable level packs in the seven Big Sea games are the same as all of the levels we already have access to on the Big Sea site. According to their help files, “You earn Gold by opening Treasure Chests, doing Gold Spins, and leveling up.” But here’s the kicker, and why development focus has been on this and not our beloved Big Sea Games site: you can buy gold. With real cash-money.

The one game not entirely familiar to us Big Sea Fans, Daily Detective, features a daily scene from one of the hidden object games that Big Fish Games produces. When you solve the daily puzzle, you earn a Gold Spin, which is essentially a jackpot spinner with a variety of gem prizes on it. I won 45 gold on mine.

Casual game portals porting their games to Facebook is nothing new — Pogo did this just recently themselves. The advantage of Pogo’s Facebook application, as opposed to Big Sea’s as it is right now, is that you can chat and all of your progress earned there is applied to your Pogo account as well. It seems that there is no way to link your Big Sea account with your Facebook account, so progress made at one site will not reflect on the other. Bummer.

We’ve created a post that lists all of the game help and information available on this site: BigSeaFans.com for Treasure Quest users. Enjoy!

Have you tried out the Facebook application? What do you think? Leave a comment below!

Get out your good luck charms because Big Sea Games is celebrating St. Patrick’s Day with increased jackpots and more trivia!

Starting March 15, you’ll have both a better chance at getting a jackpot spin and a better chance at winning a big jackpot!

In addition, Draddog’s trivia will return and this time you can double your winnings (two Big Fish Games Collection coupons instead of one) if you know the special phrase he posted to the Big Sea Games Facebook page that morning.

For more information, check out the news release. For those of you not interested in visiting Facebook for the phrase of the day, each day we’ll post the phrase here in a comment below. Good luck!
