A whole bunch of games are getting ‘awards’, which are in-game achievements you can earn and show off in your awards album. To see all of the awards you’ll be able to earn when the community redesign is launched, check out our Game Awards page.

Here are some tips, hints, and tricks we’ve come up with for Big Fish Games’ latest offering, Mush!

Once you are familiar with the game, turn off the tips by clicking the “Tips” button at the bottom right of the game screen. The tips boxes tend to cover up part of your game screen, making it harder to see whether your sled is moving or not. Unfortunately this setting doesn’t persist, so you have to re-set it at the beginning of each hand and you may have to turn it on, then off again to get it to stick.

If your dogs are (or if your dog is) standing, they are ready to be mushed.

If you have a Whoa! card and a dog card, it may be better for you to continue mushing your current set of dogs (especially if your dog card is only a 1). The best time to play a Whoa! card is when your sled is moving and do not have any mush cards available.

The character you should choose to start with is based on your playstyle and preferences. So far it seems beneficial to always start with at least one Hike! card, so choosing Lucky Rubicon or Anita Hike might be your best bet.

The Hungry card can be devastating: not only does it take out the speed of the player’s fastest dog for five rounds, if all the dogs in the pack are hungry, their sled stops moving.

We’ve run into a problem when starting Mush! from Firefox — it hangs at the “Your Game is Starting” screen. We tested Mush! in Firefox with both a paid account and a free account, as well as when not logged in at all (guest access) and the result was always the same.

We solved the problem by temporarily using Internet Explorer instead. Hopefully it’ll work for you, too.

BigFish has released a new Community game: Mush!

It’s a card/strategy game very similar to the french card game Milles Bornes. You must race across the frozen arctic with your team of mushers and try to cross the finish line first.

We’ll be taking a few days to get to know this game and will release our hints and tips soon. If you have any hints or tips, send them via email and let us know your Big Fish username so we can give you credit!
