Hi Facebook Treasure Quest fans!

I’m sure you’re wondering what this site is all about, since you got here via Facebook and/or a web search for one of the games in Treasure Quest on Facebook. Well, this site is a Big Sea Games fan site, full of information on all of the games at BigSeaGames.com, including seven of the games currently available on Treasure Quest at Facebook.

Both Big Sea Games and Treasure Quest are run by an awesome company called Big Fish Games; they also sell great casual download games, check them out if you get a chance. Big Sea Games is a casual game portal in its development/beta phase. It’s not currently open to the general public, and they are not currently accepting applications to their waiting list. Luckily for you, you can at least play seven of the Big Sea Games titles on Treasure Quest at Facebook.

There are eight games available to you on Treasure Quest, seven of which were originally (and still are) found at Big Sea Games. The exception is Daily Detective, which is compiled from scenes originally found in Hidden Object games produced by Big Fish Games. By popular demand, we are keeping an archive of the Daily Detective answers, updated every morning.

We’ve spent a lot of time collecting and providing hints and tips for a lot of the games, some pages on this site that might help you are listed below.

Another small news item is that the Daily Poll — which broke with an update in December (or was it November?) and was only displaying your answer to the poll as opposed to a percentage chart of everyone’s answers — has been moved from the front page of the site to the Big Sea Games Facebook page. At the time of this post, a recent Facebook update from Big Sea Games states “We have moved our Poll of the Day to our Facebook page for the time being! Check back each weekday for a new poll!” but there have been no polls posted (yet).

And on a related note, Big Sea Games has been publishing the new game from Big Fish Games on a daily basis to their Facebook page. I understand that it’s “content” and it’s “related”, but isn’t that something that should be reserved for the Big Fish Games Facebook page only? My point of view is that I’m already a fan of both pages; should I un-fan (unfollow? unsubscribe from?) Big Fish Games since I’m now getting duplicate information (not to mention that I’m already getting the daily game splash in my email)? Are there any Facebook users/fans out there who have an opinion on this?

And don’t forget to become a fan of the Big Sea Fans Facebook page, it’ll automatically let you know when something new is posted here.

There’s also been an update to our broken friends lists:

We have restored functionality to the friend’s list. If you have over 20 friends, you should see them now. The issue with certain browsers pushing friend’s off the edge of the screen still persists however and will be resolved at a later date.

One of the most exciting updates to the Game Community that’s coming this summer is the introduction of the Awards system to the games. If you’re an Xbox 360, World of Warcraft, or even Pogo.com player you may already be familiar with the idea of “achievements” and/or “badges”. If not, think of Awards as digital trophies that show off specific feats you have accomplished or achieved in online games.

L.O.B.E. is the first game that has been retrofitted with Awards. There are twelve to earn, and they are as follows:

Hard Road Award
Complete 100 puzzles on Hard difficulty mode

Dot Master
Complete “Hit the Dots” on Hard difficulty mode 30 times

Word Whiz
Win the Genius Bonus for “Ciphrase”, “Gridwords”, or “Tri-Words”

Chance Taker
Choose Chance (the question marks) on the brain screen 50 times

Maze Master
Create a trail in “Happy Trails” that uses more than 50% of the pieces

Brain Surgery
Earn enough stars to open all the bonus brains in a single game

Mouse Master
Complete “Mouse Untrap” on Hard difficulty mode 10 times

Brainstorm
Earn 10 daily spins

Evil Genius
Win a Genius Bonus for any puzzle

Perfect Logic
Complete “Logic Line” without moving any characters once they are in line

Math Whiz
Earn the Genius Bonus for “Knockout” or “E-Quations”

Speed Whiz
Earn the Genius Bonus for “Pic Search” or “Shape Flash”

When this feature is released this summer, you’ll be able to view your friends’ Awards pages and compare your progress to theirs. We’ll keep you posted as we hear of more planned Awards for other games.

Big Fish Games is asking us to vote for our favorite game! The choices are only four of the most recent games: L.O.B.E., Big Fish Slots, Riddle O’Day, and Unwell Mel. Since it’s election season, why not vote for your favorite?

Here are the current results:

Regular reader djJohnnyD put together a guide on how to beat Logic Line every time, but it only applies to Genius difficulty. The key here is to pick up on the natural patterns that exist within the logic puzzles. He (and I both) hope this helps you with your adventures in L.O.B.E. Thanks djJohnnyD, you’re “Extraordinary!”

First, learn to identify the main characters:

As you can see, there is a lot of verbiage in there. Here is what you will want to learn to key in on: focus on the characters that are listed as not being next to two other characters.

In this example, Zack is not next to Will or Fern, and Jill is not next to Fern or Ian. Believe it or not, this just gave you all the information you need to solve the puzzle. How? Follow with me.

Did you notice anything in common between those first two characters? Neither of them is next to Fern. On top of that, Big Fish follows a nice pattern, where the person named before the common character goes before them, and the person named after the common character goes after them. Follow with me:

1. Zack is not next to Will or Fern

2. Jill is not next to Fern or Ian

3. Thus, Will – Fern – Ian go together in that order.

We established that both Zack and Jill both come before these three, since neither of them can be next these characters. The puzzle tells us that Zack cannot be next to Will, which means that:

1. Zack goes into character spot #1

2. Jill goes into character spot #2

The final step is moving the last character to the last spot. Who it is does not really matter, since they will be determined for you by this point:

Then it is just a matter of moving everyone into his or her spaces. I guarantee this will work every time on Genius. That is, until/unless Big Fish makes any changes. Once you learn to identify the pattern, you will easily be able to beat it in less than 30 seconds.
