This offer has now expired. Stay tuned here for more news and offers soon!
I got an email from the site admin of Spigo.com — another game site like Big Sea Games. For a limited time, they are offering a signup bonus for us Big Sea castaways. If you sign up through this link you’ll get 50,000 Spigos and 90 Gold Days free. That’s like getting a bunch of tokens and a free 3 month membership to their paid features!
For more info on Spigo, here’s a favorable review from Mira of Free2WinGames (who I know of via my Pogo fan site, BadgeHungry).
My username on there is Lure if you want to add a first friend. Feel free to list your username and your impressions of this site on our community forum. Does anyone want me to create a Big Sea Fans “club”? I just need a good motto. :)

Hi, BUMMER, I had just signed up 2 days ago and will miss this great offer. Oh Well….
You could always create a new account. :)
I tried it and reviewed the Bingo in my Bingo sites thread. Also, could not figure out how to add a friend without knowing their email address (???)
wow have you checked the price of a membership? I thought pogo was expensive. Too rich for me. Looked like a nice site too.
We are not able to get past the ‘upgrade java’ window on any of the spigo games, even though we upgraded java and checked that it was the latest version before we accessed the site. We use a Mac computer, OS 10.4.11.
Anyone else having this problem, or have a suggestion?
I signed up a few days ago, I guess nearly a week as I’ve run out of my 5 free Gold days already. I’ve written them to ask if we BSG castaways can still take advantage of the special, I’ll let anyone know what they say.
If not I may still sign up but not till later as I just this week renewed POGO for $40 and bought $20 worth of gems. However, playing free on Spigo is a lot of fun and there are hardly any ads.
Lure, Mira said they only allow you to have one account at Spigo. In my email to them I had suggested I could create a new name and/or email account if it would help me get the special deal. We’ll see what they say though it may take several days as the Gold members are first in line at Customer Svc.
How about “The Seafarers” (hope I spelled that right!)
Or Sea Gypsies?
Shyanne, thanks to instructions from Mira I was able to invite friends by going to the red Search tab and entering the name of the person you want to invite, for instance, Lure and/or Cindy4764 :), then click on Search for profiles. The name and perhaps similar names should show up. I put in Shyanne and came up with two choices. Looking at the dates of joining the site I assume you are Shyanne Ark? Is that correct? I hope so ’cause I just applied for friendship, LOL.
zydeco, I have a Mac with OS 10.6.4 and I haven’t had any problems with the Java at Spigo.
I created a club called Big Sea Fans — if you find your way to the Clubs page on Spigo, please feel free to join us!
Hmm, I can see the club and there are a few members already but I see no way to join, either inside the club square or in my Profile. I wonder if you have to be a Gold member to join a club.
Nevermind, I scrolled down and saw where your invites were located. Thanks for creating the club, Lure. :)
Thanks Cindy, I found it and yes you got me right, I accepted the request.
Ok I give up, where the heck did you find how to Join the club? When I click on the Big Seas Fans it takes me to a search page with the club on it but no way to join.
Maybe I have to invite you. I’ll check next time I’m at a pc. :)
Hi like we know now the big sea games will close. But it was fun to get us a new site spigo.com to go play too.
I was asking myself if it will possible if people know goods site like these one where we can play if they can write te name of the games sites here??? so we can go and take a look at them and be able to enjoy more sites??
Ty Tina
Hi Tina! We’ve been discussing that on the community forum I set up so we can keep in touch after Big Sea shuts down:
http://www.bigseafans.com/community/viewtopic.php?f=11&t=11
@Karen I’ve been playing Spigo for free for several months now. The ads are minimal! Honestly, it’s one of the best free sites (with prizes) around. There are NO ads before a game loads, and no commercial interruptions! I love it. ^_^
Thank you again for the plug, Lure!
Forgot to mention this: The North American Spigo site is still very small. I know the woman who handles the customer service questions, and she takes care of them very quickly. If there’s a delay in reply, she’s probably asking Spigo HQ how to handle the 90 days thing.
Thanks Lure, I figured what a good reason to check this place out. I just signed up via the link above & got 1,000 tokens & 5 days of gold. Is this deal over already or is there something more I need to do? Not a big deal I suppose, but was just wondering. Off to look around the place.
n/m somehow I managed to sign up twice. After I registered the first time it took me to another registration screen, so I filled it all out again. It’s all good on the first one.
I signed up today and got 95 gold days and 60000Spigos. Have to say I don’t think the games are that challenging. That graphics pale in comparison to Big Sea (we’ve been spoiled). The scratch tickets are confusing and if I ever win money, they can keep it. I just don’t think I should have to give my bank account # to a game site.
And what’s with all the photo restrictions.
“Spigo can delete a user’s profile without prior notice, if the terms of use are not complied with. This decision lies in the sole discretion of Spigo. With regard to profile photos, the photo must show the person who registered at Spigo. It has to be a (fairly) new and lifelike portrait photo without too much of wasted space.”
How would they know if it was new?
Anyway, just my opinion…I’m sure other people have theirs. And for other games sites…Playtopia.com is ok. Lots of badges and such.
mochajanet: ITA about the photo restrictions. I tried to upload a cartoon drawing of me and it got rejected. Later that day I saw someone’s cat, a profile photo that contained a quote in text, and other stuff that made me wonder what was so wrong with mine. Oh well, no photo it is! Their loss… even in a cartoon version I’m darned cute! :P
I read the Goodbye Notice from BigSeaFans on the home page and it was pretty shallow and quite dismissive of us who are long time members and YOU R the only one who has reached out to us and I appreciate your comfort and care to make sure we are taken care of.
The Thomas Family :) XOXO Jim. Lyn and our kids
Scoobeeyzz: do you mean the Goodbye Notice from BigSeaGames, not Fans?
I cant figure out how to join the big sea fans club. Can you please send me invite. thank you
Carla: if you add me as a friend on Spigo, I’ll happily send you an invite. My username is Lure — you can add me by going to Search.
First Lure, thanks for having me as friend and inviting me to club in Spigo. Second will this site be available after Big Sea Games shuts down as there are helpful hints for Treasure Quest, Riddle, Lobe, etc. I don’t remember seeing that anywhere. Thanks bunches.
Fritzi41: I posted with the initial announcement that this site is going to stay online.

:)
dear lure i just tried that link you gave for spigo and all they offered was 1000 tokens, and thankyou for all your info it has helped me at big sea many times,
Carole: I’m pretty sure the credits are applied to your account after you sign up.
I signed up for Spigo and got 10,000 tokens and 5 days gold of gold status. Seems perhaps the bonus they referred to is randomly awarded??
It’s not randomly awarded, it’s an offer they’re giving to everyone who signs up through one of the links above. All that gobbledygook at the end of the URL is how they track where the visit came from and it’s built into their system to award Big Sea Fans the bonuses.
When you arrive at their site via one of my links, there’s a message in the middle that says “We welcome BigSeaGames.com users to Spigo.com…Receive 90 Gold day and 50.000 Spigos” I just tested it. You should receive the bonus just from signing up from there, whether or not you click on the “Receive offer” link or use the signup form on the left hand side of the page.
I’d recommend you look at your account after you sign up and sign in for the first time, not during the account creation process. If you are sure you did not get the bonuses, then contact their customer support.
Thanks for posting the link, Lure. And thanks to Mira for letting E1 know about the site.
The extra tokens are awarded after you open your first email and you get more tokens for filling out your profile and putting up a picture.
Lure, tell us more about the club and how it works.
Margi: there’s not much to the club, except it’s a list of those of us who are Big Sea castaways. I haven’t figured out how the rating system works or anything beyond how to invite folks. Maybe someone else can enlighten us. :)
Thanks, Lure. I was looking for info on their site but couldn’t find anything.
BF/BS friends, Spigo isn’t all that bad. It is kind of different, you can email each other, instant message, play single player or team games. Sure the stuff isn’t up to BS/Pogo quality but neither was Ion Thunder when it first came out.
I think this site will evolve and become bigger and better with our support; remember we are orphans. Maybe, Spigo might think of taking over some of the BS games. :)
SPIGO is really a second class site. Lousy games from 1990 calibre.
Does anyone know of a gamesite like BSGs that is for or works for Mac computers? So many of the sites like Playtopia and Spigo are designed for PCs and are glitchy on Macs.
Lure,
I have tried numerous times to get to play on spigo but it always says I don’t have updated version of Java…I surely do as I have removed everything related to Java and successfully reinstalled it all. It still says the same thing, and now I am more frustrated than ever before. Can you help me?
I just signed up using the link and didn’t get any of the offers
SueKap, loverof5cats: unfortunately, I can’t help either of you. As I mentioned before, I’m no Spigo expert and they just emailed me the link to put on my site for the offer.
For both of you, or for anyone else needing help with the offer of free Gold days and Spigos, just contact Spigo’s customer service. There’s a tab on Spigo’s home page to Help -> Customer Service where you can fill out a form to get help.
