If you did get in and are new to the site: what do you think? Are you already finding a game or two you love?

Uh, Hi!
I read this update and must admit I was slightly confused. Probably a simple misunderstanding on my behalf.
I don’t think I have or even know if I went anywhere near a waiting list.
I was / am still a member of bigfish games and was absent for a while. On my return I was forwarded onto bigsea games but the beta version.
Do I need to attempt to look at going onto a waiting list or is my job already done. Sorry to inconvenience you guys with trivia but despite some peoples frustrations with Beta I understand that you guys need to iron out kinks and I don’t want to stop playing because of something so simple =-)
Thanks in advanced.
Kind regards. BernieFoob.
Berniefoob: first of all, this is just a fan site — we aren’t Big Sea Games or Big Fish Games in any way, shape, or form. With that said, you probably were placed on the waiting list. The only people who have received access so far are:
* those who had played at the Big Fish Games Community within a short time period before the launch of the Big Sea Games site and were given access in August when the Big Sea Games beta was launched
* those who had tried to sign up for a Big Sea Games account when the beta was first launched but were placed on the wait list and were recently notified
If you try to log in at http://www.bigseagames.com/ it should either log you in and give you games to play, tell you that you are on the waiting list, or tell you that you don’t have an account and need to register. If the latter is the case, you’ll be placed on the waiting list I believe.
I for one am still enjoying the games I play here. And I spend far too much time playing games. My two favourites are Mush and Riddle ODay. Ive made some good friends in the chat rooms and that is half the reason I go there. For me, it is a social connection.
That said, I would like to make some suggestions for hopefully improving everyones enjoyment of the games. I realise all these require programming which can take time so maybe not all are feasible.
Mush: Could it be possible for uds to choose 1 card to carry over to the next race? Many times Ive been frustrated that Ive collected a good hand and then the race ends and I cant use the cards. Also, we dont have much opportunity to receive bonuses, just when people win a certain number of games or rank up. Could it be possible to share bonuses when people achieve a high jackpot spin and the people playing all receive a portion of it? Like in Riddle with the Wisdom Chests. Also, please eliminate the 100 token jackpot spin. We work hard to win the games and it is very dispiriting to receive that one. Finally, Mush tends to freeze on me once in a while. Its no big deal, just annoying to have to reboot. I like to see my score advance up the room score and I lose my progress. In the big picture it is irrelevant, just an annoyance.
Riddle ODay: Ive enjoyed the daily and weather transitions. Is it possible to work in seasonal ones as well?
All games: I think some sort of acknowledgement should happen when a player achieves all the awards. Either a bonus for the room or a bit of fanfare. I see you have some fanfare in Big Fish Slots. I would like to see a direct link to the Rank calculator from all the games for conveniences sake.
Thank you.
Thanks for Info. Am well aware this is indeed a fan site. You just seem to more forthcoming with sense and so I kind of decided to just hit you with it and to my satisfaction you came up with the goods. THANKS!.
On following your link I found I am infact able to play as normal. Thanks once again now on to plunder to beat my obsessed mother who hasnt slept in weeks ;-]
Kind regards- The Foob
Berniefoob: glad to hear you got in! :) See you around!
I continue to check my email but (sigh) no notification yet but I’m continuing to circle the pond in anticipation of an invite soon. Since I put my name on the waiting list months ago, I’ve spent a small fortune on downloading PC games from Big Fish, so maybe they are hesitant to admit me to the free portion of the site due to fear of an obvious drop in their income. hehehe
What I clearly do not understand is if they can find programmers to change the jackpot spins then why cant those same workers fix one game at a time until they are all fixed?
The site is still riddled with problems that they say they can not afford to fix at this time
Then why invite more folks?? makes no sense to me considering that most of the problems come up when the site is overloaded on the weekend with a lot of players. Why invite more players to a broken site??
BSG needs to stop fooling with these lame jackpot adjustments and trivia
Not to mention that it was drilled in our heads that BSG and BFG are two separate entities but when the trivia questions are answered the winners get free games from BFG…. huh???
The whole thing is beginning to look like a family feud and now the kids at BSG are at a loss and need mom and dad at BFG’s help
just my 2 cents
I have to agree to most of the above post. BFG was the only gamesite I visited with a passion, first thing in the morning and last thing at night!! Hehehe……
Apart from the quality and number of games, my friends, being able to find them easily and then chat privately was probably the most important reason I loved the site so much.
BSG Im afraid has been somewhat of a letdown :(
Although the games are just as addictive, I don’t stay as long, can’t find any of the friends I used to have and chatting in the rooms is pretty much non existent.
I’ve also noticed a huge drop in the number of players online which used to be in multiples of thousands to only a couple of thousand at best?
I’m sorry to say that BSG has failed to live up to expectations.
I missed something along the way. I guess I was supposed to apply to be able to stay active on your site? I have been playing these games for almost 10 years and recently I have tried daily to get online with no result. Sign me up or tell me which hoops to jump over please.
Got my letter today that I can play at Big Sea – woohooo. I am excited to test the waters, so I’m off to the pond to check things out.
Indy: I am *so* happy for you! Congratulations! Feel free to come back and let me know what you think. :)
In other news, I’ve been thinking about putting together a weekly social — just for an hour or so once a week for us fans to get together and say hi. I’m not playing very often these days (impossible to get things done with baby on my lap so my free time is pretty much nonexistent) so I’m not seeing people in game rooms as often as I used to. I’m also not chatting as regularly via email or comments, since there’s just *nothing* going on at Big Sea that’s newsworthy (sigh). It’d be nice to catch up at an event, if anyone’s still playing! What do you guys think? I’ll put my feelers out more formally in a few days, but feel free to leave a comment here or send me an email in the meantime.
good idea lure but ill through the first problem into the melting pot – all the different time zones we are on
as for nothing going on – no word of any increased jackpots this month – i was hoping for easter but that has been and gone and nothing from draddog at all about the next lot
youll have to teach your baby to click on the mouse and play games for you while you chat! lol
I received my invitation a couple of days ago. I have been having fun playing Mush, L.O.B.E., and Riddle O’day. I will be checking here to stay up on news as you do a great job of keeping us all informed on your sites. I don’t know how you do it with a new baby and all. Thank you for all of your work.
Started playing at bigseagames.com the day before yesterday. I like the OZ Video poker, Riddle of the Day, and Snowglobe slots. I just wonder what effect this site will have (if any) on Pogo.com another EA site. Maybe biseagames.com will offer some rpgs…that would be nice.
Well – I’ve been playing at Big Sea now for a couple days and I’m really liking the variety. Haven’t tried everything, but so far really like the Riddle O’Day, Dueces Wild Poker, Fish Slots, Suits me Klondike Solitaire, Suits me TriPeaks , and several others. Nice variation of some regular games and some great new types of games, and I’m starting to get hooked. I knew I would. haha I’m just feeling my way along slowly testing the waters, but I sure like what I see. Even though those of you that have been involved with Big Sea for quite a while have seen problems, looking from my newbie perspective, I see a lot of fun games just waiting for me to spend more time playing and less time cleaning – and that’s what entering retirement is all about, right? hahaha Thanks Lure for pointing me in the Big Fish/Big Sea direction months ago. I am so excited to be able to play there now – I’ve already contributed a lot of money to downloading tons of games in Big Sea and I dearly love that spot, too. So many choices, so little time. HAHAHA Have a super weekend.
Are they sending out conflicting messages now?
They have slightly opened the Big Sea site and are letting a few more people in BUT
On the other hand they have opened Treasure Quest on Facebook with most of the popular games from Big Sea there – meaning fewer people will come to the Big Sea site.
Are they going to let the Big Sea site wither and die? I know there are a number of people who are not members of facebook and who will not join it – I’m one heard of too many people having problems from that site.
Charlie: can you give me a link to the Facebook/Big Sea stuff?
I’m not on facebook but i believe it goes under the name of “Treasure Quest”
here is a link to an article about it
http://games.venturebeat.com/2010/04/19/big-fish-games-swims-into-facebook-with-treasure-quest-casual-games-portal/?boxes=techchannelventure
Thanks Charlie! I’m not sure how I missed this news (or how my sources didn’t fill me in while it was in development…grr on them), but it looks like what Pogo did as well, without the brilliance of actually linking your Big Sea and FB accounts. I’ll do a write-up here soon, not sure how I feel about it right now.
