when you click the freeze button it means that the matches you have made do not automatically "go". It enables you to build up lots of matches on the screen for more tokens -if you manage to get 36 matched on screen you score more than 1,000 for it (and it is possible)

you do not have to match all the same colour you can have matches of red others of blue etc. all you have to do is every time you try to move an item you have to form a match of 3 or more.

once you have matched up all you can on the screen hit the freeze button again to "unfreeze" and release all the matches at once

What do freezes do? How are they used? I'm clueless on this one ... and I play a lot of match-3 games.

charlie: argument or not, I know this game has lost a lot of its appeal to a lot of people because its token payouts are kind of pathetic, whether or not you're comparing them to the old game.

There should be at least one game on the site that just bleeds tokens IMO. Everyone loves tokens and it's not like we're using them for real-value items at this time anyway. I could be wrong, but even though we may be able to spend them on things in the future, it's not going to break their bank anyway.

I don't want to start an argument but i think the payments have been reduced by more than 83%. Based on more than 200 finishes on the old site the average score for completing the game used to be about 3,475,000. Because of the low tokens I don't play much now but my first completiuon has just yielded about 465,000 making the reduction nearer 87% - didn't catch the actual score as it didn't stay on the screen like it used to - I wonder why!!!

I WAS a Shape Shifter fan for years.....but they have totally ruined this game for me. The new look is too "kiddish-looking" and way too slow. Same thing with Snow Globe. I was one of the Beta Testers before they opened the site and went live.

Plus, the graphics now aren't near as crisp as before, not to mention the entirely different layouts. Do NOT care for the new look.

Loved the simplicity of the old layouts and graphics!! Miss the old look of these two games alot. Sigh....

Haven't played Shape Shifter more than once or twice since the re-vamp so don't know a thing about the payout. From what I gather, that's been ripped up too.

Sure hope they don't continue to do this to many more games. It's getting so old having sites with my favorites games being "updated" into versions that aren't always a good or welcomed change for the better. :(

What a shame!!

This game will never regain the fans it had at BigFish until the site realizes the token payout has been reduced by 83% and that is insipid.

Freezes are also much more valuable in this scoring method - in the old method line up a total of 36 mathced items - score 36 - now 36x36x0.8= 1036!

Still doesnt make up for the large completion bonuses that have been lost though.

Actually, to be entirely accurate, you also need to multiply with 2^x, where x is the chain count (number of matches previously caused by this single move, starting at 0), or 11, whichever is less. The old one multiplied by 1-4 for the first 4 matches (0-3 in this new format), and multiplied by 2^(x-1) beyond that, where x was the chain count or 10, whichever was less.

In other words, chains are worth FAR more in this new version.
