Recent Changes to Fairway Solitaire

On Tuesday afternoon of this week, Big Sea Games updated Fairway Solitaire:

We have just updated Fairway Solitaire to fix some bugs including an issue with scoring. We also updated some backgrounds and added some new music.

Charlie wrote in to let us know that after this update, the Gopher seems to be hiding way deep in his hole — so deep that full rooms are only flushing him at most once every hour or so. For those of you not familiar with the game, more or less at random an event happens where a player is awarded a card that says a gopher has appeared and they “flush” the gopher down his hole, then everyone in the room gets a 10k token bonus.

In the Known Issues forum, they listed the changes they made (nothing new from the above note), but there was not a single mention of token payouts or tokens at all. No other threads (created by players like us, or moderators) address the changes made this week, but it’s obvious that something happened to the gopher-flushing frequency.

I’d also noticed the same drastic reduction that Charlie did. I’ll admit it: even though I’d received all of the awards for the game weeks ago and have no interest in playing anymore, I still park in a full room from time to time. Before the update, I would receive sometimes as much as 800k tokens in an 8-hour stint. Now, not so much.

I did some lurking in a normally-full room and in an overnight session last night (well, it was cut short by the 8-hour timeout) I received just under 90k tokens (that was probably 7 or 8 flushes plus tokens for others’ rank-ups) and then just over 40k tokens today.
