My new favorite person B3achy wrote up this explanation of the differences between difficulty levels and the points (tokens) you receive for the different modes. Enjoy!
The following is an attempt to explain the point differences between the difficulty levels, both timed and untimed. In the timed modes, you actually start with more time the higher the depth level you are (and less time at the deeper levels). You start with more time in Easy mode than in Hard mode. At this point, can’t really discern what the actually time amounts are. Also in timed mode, you get 5 additional seconds for each word you find at all the difficulty levels. You’ll notice a significant jump between medium and hard for the points.
Easy Mode (5 Hints):
• Untimed:
- 3 & 4 Letter Words – 45 points each
(56 bonus points for finding all 3 & 4 letter words)
- 5 Letter Words – 67 points each
(56 bonus points for finding all 5 letter words)
- 6 Letter Words – 90 points each
(337 bonus points for finding all 6 letter words)
2250 Bonus Points for finding all the words – 0 points for the room/team
• Timed:
- 3 & 4 Letter Words – 75 points each
(93 bonus points for finding all 3 & 4 letter words)
- 5 Letter Words – 112 points each
(93 bonus points for finding all 5 letter words)
- 6 Letter Words – 150 points each
(562 bonus points for finding all 6 letter words)
3750 Bonus Points for finding all the words – 0 points for the room/team
Room Share of 300 points for reaching level 15 ‘for the first time’
Medium Mode (3 Hints):
• Untimed:
- 3 & 4 Letter Words – 51 points each
(63 bonus points for finding all 3 & 4 letter words)
- 5 Letter Words – 76 points each
(63 bonus points for finding all 5 letter words)
- 6 Letter Words – 102 points each
(382 bonus points for finding all 6 letter words)
2550 Bonus Points for finding all the words – 0 points for the room/team
• Timed:
- 3 & 4 Letter Words – 85 points each
(106 bonus points for finding all 3 & 4 letter words)
- 5 Letter Words – 127 points each
(106 bonus points for finding all 5 letter words)
- 6 Letter Words – 170 points each
(637 bonus points for finding all 6 letter words)

Hard Mode (1 Hint):

- 6 Letter Words – 120 points each
(450 bonus points for finding all 6 letter words)
3000 Bonus Points for finding all the words – 100 points for the room/team
• Timed:
- 3 & 4 Letter Words – 125 points each
(125 bonus points for finding all 3 & 4 letter words)
- 5 Letter Words – 150 points each
(125 bonus points for finding all 5 letter words)
- 6 Letter Words – 750 points each
(750 bonus points for finding all 6 letter words)
5000 Bonus Points for finding all the words – 100 points for the room/team
Room Share of 400 points for reaching level 15 ‘for the first time’

For me it was eye-opening to put this list together. I would have thought playing Hard untimed would have been better than playing on Medium. Instead, I actually have changed my strategy, and when Hard Timed is too much for me (getting tired, brain not awake yet, etc), I now play on Medium Timed (with 3 hints and more initial time, I can often get all the words).
Also gave me a lot of insight as to why some people are so far ahead of me – I’ve noticed they often get all the words on Hard (because the room bonus message pops up a lot when they are playing), and if they are playing timed, this can give them around 7,500 to 10,000 tokens per round with all the bonuses. I know some don’t care about the tokens since they are worthless right now, but I’m sure some have been left scratching their heads as to how others could be raking in the higher token counts in such a short time. I think this list helps to explain it.

It would be nice to play the games and not have them slow down on you but just a hint for this game don’t empty your tank save them and then do them all at once when it gets to the danger lever you can get so many more points only took me a week to do one level and it’s not my computer lol
………….. GL and have fun but I’m thinking of finding a new site that won’t slow down or crash my computer and being it’s new with a big hard drive it’s not the computer~~~~~~~~~~

Question for bingonut- what is a ‘danger lever’? Does something alert you if your holding tank gets full? What is the max allowed?
Edc I got a warning alarm that went off don’t know if it was a glitch or what but my tank was so full I was able to fill all the tables needed in one shot. Not sure what the max is ……..
Yea, I was curious about that bingonut’s comment too. I know I’ve had probably up to 30 critters in the tank…but didn’t know about or have had a warning go off, so it’s probably more than that…interesting…new goal…fill the tank…hmmmm…..like I need anything else to keep me in this game for all hours of the day…lol.
I never liked Dive as timed games make me nervous, so I was delighted with the “untimed” option in Dive Deeper. I find the “hard” levels actually easier than the “easy” levels, as there are less words to find.
