We’re in for another round of Big Sea Games maintenance on Friday, August 28th. This time, the site will go down at 8am PST and will be down roughly an hour.
We will be taking Big Sea Games down tomorrow, Friday, August 28, 2009 at 8 AM Pacific Time for roughly one hour. We will be performing maintenance to improve overall stability for the site and games. While we are down, you can follow our progress on Facebook.
Feel free to chat in the comments here while we wait for its return. As usual, if there are any more updates I’ll add them at the bottom of this post.
Update 8:36am PST: This, from Facebook (though I honestly couldn’t begin to tell you what it means): “Good morning Big Sea Gamers! The development team has reached a point where the servers must be taken offline to complete their maintenance. I will update when I have more information.”
Update 9:15am PST: The site is back up. Hopefully it lasts!

good hopefully they fix what is happening with the lag in bingo. I keep getting slow numbers and it’s almost a full minute before what i typed in chat appears. Earlier the spinner wasn’t working and that was after i had to reload a couple times because i was just getting the “loading” screen.
In other words big sea didn’t do good on the updates last time lol
Already this evening I’m having trouble with getting some of the rooms to load, and Deuces Wilder froze on me when I earned a spin. I know they’re doing their best to keep the site working but I wish they’d get things under control soon (hopefully with tomorrow’s maintenance)!

i have not played on big sea for a couple of days cause it takes too long to load close to 10 minutes plus will be in the middle of a game a box comes up says having trouble loading the game try again
grrr. actually it’s Friday where i’m at. This is getting a little aggravating!! I had one more puzzle on mahjong to do. At least I finished my daily doses today. I hope they get it together soon!!
Staci: yeah it’s Friday everywhere. I just typed in the wrong day last night as I was about to go to bed. I’ve been making date-based mistakes all week, I’m surprised I even realized it’s Friday today. Anyway, I fixed the original post, thanks!
The last fix didn’t address the endless gray screens I keep getting closing my games so hopefully todays will. Yesterday it was beyond ridiculious because I got a gray screen on every single game I played. Over and over throughout the day, often at very bad times when I was just winning. So hopefully that will be better after this maintenance.

Working properly? You must be joking – its worse than it was before. Go to Team Bingo play the game you join, one more and then in the one after that you get kicked out “We are having trouble loading….” happened 5 times now!
i had the same problem charlie and debi and i changed from Internet Explorer to Mozilla Firefox and i have had not trouble since – not been booted once.
didnt think it had anything to do with what internet service i went through and was sceptical when i did change but it has worked
I’ve always used Mozilla but I’m still getting booted, even after the maintenance :( I don’t know about anybody else but frankly I’m getting pretty sick of it.
Don’t know what they fixed this time or last itme, but I so know I am sick to death of those gray screens kicking me out of games all the time. Just now I was starting to open my Plunder treasure chests and it crashed! When I went back in the game wasn’t even saved at the level I had gotten to and the treasure chests were long gone. Drat, drat, drat!
Well, don’t go to Team Bingo. The game freezes & you can’t even shut your computer off without doing it at you surge protector. At least I can’t. I still say I think Big Sea jumped the guns big time on this one. They should have never switched over until all the bugs were worked out & all the games were in. What was their big hurry anyway? I am actually afraid to go into Team Bingo anymore. And you play a game, get booted, play another game, get booted. Personally, I think they tightened their nuts & bolts a little too tight this time.
I’d been having no trouble after the maintenance yesterday, until about an hour ago. Trying to play Suits Me Tripeaks, half the time I get a spin it takes several seconds after hitting the spin button for it to start spinning; the other half it never starts at all and all the points from the round are lost when I have to reload the game. I know it’s not coming back but I’m missing the old site more and more every day.
William, you’re not alone! I’m having the same problem with the JP Spins in Suits Me TriPeaks, but no other games. It’s a new thing as far as I can tell, since the last maintenance. Sigh.
Hi Lure. I’m wondering if you can help me with my friends list. There are no friends on it that I had with big fish. There are some names there that I don’t know who they are, and I don’t know how to remove them, and I don’t know how to add the friends that I want. Any help that you can give would be very appreciated. Thank you.
I’m getting tired of the “There is an error loading the game. Please try again” when your in the middle of playing a game.
Barbelle: to remove someone from your friends list, click on their name to go to their profile. There’s a a link to remove them from your friends list there. (It’ll turn into a link to add them once they’re removed.) The reason there are people you don’t know in your friends list is that they might have had to change usernames in the transition. (I went from Lure to bigfishgamer_com.) It happened to a LOT of people and Big Sea is claiming they have no way of changing usernames at this point (except I’ve seen it happen with a friend of mine). But I digress..
To add someone to your friends list, it’s easiest to find them in-game and click on their name in the room list above chat. There’s an option there to add them to your friends list (note: they will be notified in chat that you added them to your friends list and you will be added to their friends list in return. Another way is to visit your friends’ profile page directly, which may mean typing in their username into the URL field of your browser. Mine is here:

Just remove my username and type in anyone else’s to see their profile and add them to your friends list. It’s not the best method, but it works. I hope Big Sea finds another way to manage friends soon.

The fix did not last long. Cannot get any game to load beyond the chat screen.
site seems worse since last round of maintenance – more and more difficult to load games – much of the time you cant get into to some of them – jackpot spins not working – getting kicked out of games, awards and ranks not saving……… it is as bad as it ever was now
i spoke too soon – now cant get into any game!
They will be bringing the site down briefly to try to fix the issues about loading games – as I write this, 12:05 PM PT, there’s a few minutes left until theytake it down.

The only good thing about pogo is they take the site down in the wee morning. Wish big fish did that too.
Well one again they are down for the dreaded maintenance that doesn’t fic anything seems to make everything worse. I’m so livid today grr! It is a nice place when it works. I have been on a week and only two days have only been without problems grr!!!
I didn’t know they were taking it down again today and I was in the middle of making silk pants in Farm 52. Sure will be miffed if it couses me to lose all my ingredients. Those are the high ticket items and I am sorely in need of cash for my farm. But I do hope this fix fixes all the trouble that ails BSG.
SiamaLee: yeah, I think they’ll figure it out once they get into a regular maintenance pattern. As much as these are being referred to as “scheduled maintenance” periods, they are more or less emergency hotfixes that are planned less than a day in advance. With the old Big Fish Game Community site, they did maintenance in the wee hours of the morning for most US folks too.
Debi: I’m not sure they knew they were taking it down again today either. :)
hi i dont know but me here its sunday the 30 of august and i just got into mahjong to play i connect to the chat and while i was playing i start having trouble telling me trying to reconnect…again…and again so i get off the room to get in another one but now i cant anymore telling me the site is down againnnnnnn……. for maintenance grrrrrr so have to wait again to play my games and hopping they will hurry a little bit more fast to put the rest of the games on the site because its start getting a little dull to play just a couples of games.
I want my slots and my word search :( snifffffffff tell them to hurry up!!!!
But whose morning should they go by? What is morning to you may be afternoon to me, so they will always choose a time that’s in the middle of the day for someone.

They are learning very slowly.
Today they at least sent a message in chat that it was going down in 10 minutes.
Pidgeot: shh, details details! There’s always an argument for them to do maintenance at any time of day, but I still would like to see them get into a regular “overnight/early AM” maintenance for their own time zone.
Also, it looks like it’s back up.
You got that right Pidgeot. I live in Central time zone, right outside Chicago, but when I can’t sleep, I am up half the night playing till around 4 am.
So I think the best solution should be they should take the site down whenever I am not playing. LOL.
SiamaLee: *laugh* Let’s just compile a list of our usernames and tell them they can do maintenance if and only if none of us are online at the time. :) Perfect solution!
its monday 6am and cant get any games to load for the past 30 mins even tho it appears there are people playing, friend in Canada has the same problem
its back up lure but still not working properly – team bingo game not playing, fairway solitaire jackpot spin not working and thats the only 2 games ive tried so far…. expect there are still more problems to find in other games. these quick fixes are making matters worse as often as they are fixing things

once again bigseas is not loading – 7pm mon evening aussie time – have had trouble for the past 14 hours trying to get the games working. My friend in The Netherlands is also unable to load the games

hi lure,i’m getting trouble loading a game,it’s getting frustrated.i wonder if it’s where you live?on friday while playing i was having a good chat with friends,when someone asked politely where we we’re all from i told them and boom all of a sudden things changes.yesterday i lost my daily spin without even giving it a try,it got stuck and had to leave.then all of a sudden they tell you that it will be closing down for maintanence,it sucks!!do you get judged from where you live ????i hope not cause i was taught not to judge people and show respect,whoever he or she is.

Unable to get in to play this morning. The forums are up but the game page won’t load for me. I know BS had lots of problems yesterday with game and jackpot freezing. Hope they can work the kinks out soon.
Been trying to get into games for 2 hrs. still no luck.
This site is definitely not working right and I have lost ranks and tokens because of the maintenance. You get shut off during a game and everything won in there til that point is gone…..Now the site has to be down again because I get nothing now. I am afraid this site instead of tightening their nuts and bolts are losing theirs….many are getting ready to leave this disaster behind, down more than up and running.

7:23 AM EDT Big Sea not accessible, the Forums site is also experiencing problems-can’t even sign in there. Have been “playing” with both sites for
2 hours now. Even did maintenance on computer.

I also forgot to mention I never received one JP spin in team bingo when I played…..I would clear the badda and then nothing. And today i have tried on Mozilla and IE to load and nothing is happening. If there are those who love this site it will only be a short time and they won’t love it, Big Seas took over something that had problems now and again but they never had problems like this. They surely jumped the gun with their hype and should have kept their mouths shut until everything was in great working order.
It is Aug 31 and i cannot get into your site. I can get into Riddle solvers site ??? Everytime i played bingo, the server shuts off the game, it is very irritating.. I hope whatever you did on Friday will eventually fix the problems.

i been trying for an hour now to get the site to even load i have signed in and it keeps trying to load. i been at the take me there screen for awhile now. i am so addicted to farm 52 and i am going threw withdrawls sense i can’t play. i hope they fix these problems soon i want to get back to farming.

Monday, the 31st where I am. Site must be down or something is wrong. Can’t get it to load. One time it did load into the Online section. When I clicked on Community, it showed my screen name, however, it was still asking me to sign in. DUH! I do like this game site, but it is becoming pretty frustrating, not knowing if it will load. I get the message sometimes that another game is running asking me if I want to delete the other game. Also, wondering if they will still have the drawings. What good is it to accumulate many tokens, if they can’t be used.
I can not get on to big sea today. Its timing out. Is anyone else having a problem?? Thank you HAGD.

The page is just looooaddddingg and just cant make it to the games. I try it a lot of times and its not just working…..Ayyyee will have to wait to see if i will be able to get in during the day.
