Today, Big Sea Games added three dedicated League Halls to Team Bingo and starting tomorrow they ask that all tournaments be held in these special rooms. Here’s the official notice from Draddog:
Hi everyone,
As part of the planned maintenance down time tomorrow, August 26th, (to happen at 9 AM), we will be adding three League Halls to Team Bingo. Tournament organizers (directors) should contact Mod_Hope to gain access to these halls. You can reach her by using the Contact Us page. Please make the subject “Attn: Mod_Hope-Leagues”.
These halls will be called out by name as “League Halls”. We are going to ask that all Team Bingo Leagues be played in these halls starting tomorrow.
This is just a first step for us in our support of Leagues on an ongoing basis.
Congratulations to the leagues who can once again hold tournaments like there’s no tomorrow!
What do you think of these dedicated halls? Do they allow leagues to continue in the privacy of their own rooms which will never fill up with non-league players, or do they cause leagues to lose out on possible new recruits because they are sequestered into their own rooms? What’s your take?

I have no problem with having designated league halls. I do have a problem with not knowing which one letsbingo league is going to be allowed to use. I sent a request to Bigsea last night for Hall 1, Team I in the League Halls, and have had no reply other than the standard one about getting a reply within 48 hours. So here I am, patiently waiting!
Maybe I didn’t get a reply because I didn’t put he Attn-Mod_Hope-Leagues thing on it. If I could get to the Help button on Bigsea I’d send another one with that on it. God what a mess!
The BSG forums are still up, and Draddog posted a link to the Contact Us page in the sticky that announced the update – that site is working fine.
However, considering the current situation, I suggest you wait a while longer – I don’t think assigning halls is prioritized very highly as long as the site is still down.
We will have to wait and see how it affects leagues if we can ever get in lol. I believe most leagues have their assigned rooms already, our league weluv bingo was sent notification today.
I think all the awards in bingo at least. messes up our league scores, and I am not a td. I have turned off the messages.

Thanks for all your help while this mess got sorted. I believe all leagues now have their room assignments, and no one I have talked to got the room they requested. Go figure! At least we all got a room.
I’M JUST GLAD WE HAVE A ROOM TO HOST IN!!! WOOHOOO!!!…and leagues have ALWAYS been word of mouth..soo peeps will come to join leagues..IF they desire to do so…but believe it or not SOME peeps prefer rooms free of leagues and all the chatter that goes with hosting trnys,lol….they have a place of their own as well…its win-win!!!well done ..BIG SEA and MOD_HOPE!!!…
what are these leagues and how do u join?
I see no problem at all getting new members into the leagues. I don’t know about the other leagues but we have had at least 2 a day join since we were told we couldn’t have trnys. Go figure.
Tom, go to one of the league rooms & watch how we all play our games. It is just bingo with a twist. We have tons of fun in our league. If you decide you want to join just ask how to do it. The hosting TD will tell you all about it. Hope you have as much fun as I do.

Well I have to post this and don’t know where else to post it. I have been at work all day and just came home and got online. When I went into our new League room and tried to say hi, I got a red alert message that said I had been muted by a moderator and would not be allowed to chat until my mute time expired. I have sent an email and asked them why I was muted when I hadn’t been there all day, and when this mute would expire. I’m supposed to host tournaments tonight and can’t chat. I am so frustrated. If I knew of ANY other game site that would be good for me to move my league to, I’d be so outta here.
Well, what a surprise to find out our Head Admin, Aggie, has been banned from chat until the moderator lifts it, which I am sure is Mod_Hope. I guess standing up for what you think is right doesn’t apply when it comes to Big Sea Games. The whole situation was handled inappropriately and Aggie is the one being penalized for it and reported to Cases for being rude. But, personally, I think it was rude of Big Sea Games and Mod_Hope in the way it was handled with us. Next time, maybe they should do their homework before they jump into something, notify people instead of the way this was handled.
I don’t know what else to say other than: WTF.
Lure, if you thought WTF before, just listen to this. Still no reply to my email, but they just did an announcement in the room in red that all could see “aggiemom949 has been muted by a moderator” and at the same time I got one saying my mute would end in 1440 minutes, which is 24 hours. And I still don’t know why. I was totally mortified that the entire room of league members and total strangers saw that. I have done nothing to warrant this.

Wow, what ever happened to innocent until proven guilty? Our Head Admin Aggie has been muted for 24 hrs! And for what? nobody has said why, or even given her a chance to vindicate herself. She had high hopes of giving Bigsea a chance to make a better site that we all could enjoy and continue our league in. And what happens? She gets slapped in the face!! Aggie has worked long and hard to make this the biggest and best league for the past 3 years. It makes me sick! They really dropped the ball on this one…
Wow Aggie, who’s cage did you rattle??? There have been a few non-league people in the league rooms, which is fine I know that all leagues welcome players league members or not. Thats how we all get new members. But I did see one person who was complaining about caps and asking why are you yelling and they were told (nicely) that a tourney was being hosted in the room. So I dont know if non-league players are complaining about tourneys. We are all in our assigned tourney rooms so I dont know what the problem is?????????
Donna, I finally got a reason out of them for why I was muted….they said I was rude to a non-league member on the night of Monday 8/24. I don’t believe I was, I have always stressed to my staff that we must be welcoming to all, not just league members. I have requested a copy of the captured chat…..doubt I’ll get it though. But the alleged incident took place before the League Halls were open and assigned. As I have said before, if there was another site that I thought would work for myleague, I’d have moved this week. But there isn’t, so my only option is to put up with whatever crap they throw at me next, and handle it the best way I can. I would be interested to know if any other HA’s are being harrassed the way I am.
Now, I am totally confused. Big Sea set up League Rooms, so that “we could continue to do our tournaments” and ask non-league players to use the regular halls just like they ask leagues to use the League Room. We have had a lot of non-league players in our rooms, many have joined our league, other haven’t and we’ve been nice to them, etc. But, now we have been reported for playing one of players favorite games, Name That Tune. Now, we have been playing this game for over 2-1/2 years and never received a complaint until the change to Big Sea. We know other leagues play this game, so I will be contacting them today to see if they have been told they can’t play it either (but I have my doubts). I really appears to me that someone is out to get our League. And Big Sea, they take what is reported, no questions ask, no investigation, but just rules on it and you have no recourse.
Beachy: that sucks. I was just thinking about you guys the other day, wondering how the League halls were working out for you.
How do you know you guys were reported? Do you know if someone clicks the “Play Now” button if it just randomly assigns a hall/room from the six total halls, or just the 3 non-League ones? (I’m thinking that could be part of the problem.) Were you specifically asked not to play anything but bingo in the League halls or Name That Tune in particular? Has anyone checked the forums to see if there’s a thread from a moderator about exactly what can or can’t go on in League halls and rooms?
And please, come back and let me know what you find out about other leagues.
Aggie, Sorry to hear about you be muted and now I hear that you are not allowed to play Name that Tune????? Come on this is getting way out of hand. If there are non league members complaing about Tourney rooms then they should play in regular rooms. With all of the Game messages that are filling up chat, I dont know why someone would complain about tourney chat. This sounds like someone is just targeting Aggie. I dont know of any other HA being harrassed like this and it just stinks. I agree Aggie if there was another place to go for Team Bingo I would be there too.
Thanks, Donna. It is very disheartening. I have sacrificed so much for this league, and to have this happen is pretty devastating. Not sure what my next course of action will be. I am trying to make a rational decision which isn’t based on anger and frustration. My instinct is to delete the league, and if I thought bigsea would be adversely effected by that, I wouldn’t hesitate to do it. But I have no doubt that my members would find another league and continue playing at the site, which is certainly their right…….and I long ago realized that tourney players really don’t care who is hosting, what the format is, or how much an entry fee is……they just want a tourney! And that is as it should be. If there was another site I could move my league to, I would. But I have looked at every site I have heard about, and none of them would work for my league. Going to make a final decision about what I am going to do after this weekend. And hope I don’t get another gut punch before then, but I’m not hopeful. Sorry if this sounds defeatist, but I’m pretty defeated right at the moment. aggie
Lure, well, after many emails back and forth today, we were told we could play our game but could only put one or 2 lines of type in at a time. Well, when we play Name That Tune, that is how we do it and have always done it. We give a line at a time until someone names the song. Nothing we put in for Name That Tune could come close to all the stuff that scrolls through chat at the end of the games. And, from what I understood in the emails, the League Halls aren’t really specifically for the Leagues so if there are non-league players in there and they want to complain about every thing we do, they can and we will be penalized for it. Big Sea continues to say they want the Leagues and tournaments to continue, they welcome us, but from what we have see up to this point, it sure doesn’t look that way to us. So, I guess tomorrow night, we shall see, as it is our schedule Name That Tune night.
Lure, we don’t KNOW that we were reported. They SAID we were reported by more than one person. And they first said we couldn’t play Name That Tune, then they said we could but we could only enter one line at a time, which is exactly how we have been doing it every week for 3 years. We have sent them a song and entered it in the email exactly as it would be typed in chat, and are awaiting a response to that. If Name That Tune is not allowed because of chat, then I feel like our league information and our tourney rules will be next. Those are typed in chat and take up a lot more room than Name That Tune song lyrics. And if we can’t run our league information and our tourney rules, then we will be unable to 1) get new members, and 2) run a tournament. As far as where you end up when you press Play Now, I have no clue because I didn’t even know there was a Play Now feature, but will investigate and see what I find and let you know. I read the forums everyday and have seen no threads at all about what Leagues are allowed to do and not do…..probably because they are making it up as they go along. What amazes me is that it is my understanding that the same people are with bigsea that were with bigfish, and we have played here since I created the league over 3 years ago, but all of a sudden it’s like leagues were never heard of before. For the sake of fairness, I need to clarify the reason I was muted. I got a copy of the captured chat from Mod_Marissa. What I said was “she is a trouble-making fool” which was said about a person who had been causing trouble the night Mod_Hope came into our room during the middle of a tournament to tell us we could no longer host tournaments until more rooms were open. After seeing what I had said, I did realize that it was rude. I told the people in the room that I had, in fact, been rude, and apologized. I asked them all to watch what they said, and promised them that I would do the same.
I don’t see anything wrong with “trouble making fool”, especially if it’s true. (I can think of about 20 different variations of if that would get me banned, though.) If I got muted for every slightly rude thing I said in chat, I’d be muted til 2038 (especially on Pogo — I pride myself on my snark). I try to be courteous and usually am, but being reported for THAT, Aggie? That’s having to walk on thin-ice!
Lure, the “trouble making fool” was in the room the night we were told we could not do tourneys when Mod_Hope was in the room. This person continued to make comments about tournaments, etc. and adding fire to the flame that was ignited in our room. Aggie, several players as well as myself, ask Mod_Hope to remove her from room, make her stop making the comments she was making, etc. But we were totally ignored and this person was still in the room after Mod_Hope left and still made comments about how they were the ones along with their friends who reported us and they would continue to report us. This person also stated they were friends with Mod_Hope – now whether this is true or not, it sure looked like it to us since Mod_Hope ignored our requests about this person and let them continue their comments. Our players were informed to mute this person as this person was only there to cause problems. We had never seen this person before and have not seen them in the room since. Now, the next night when Aggie made the comment, she simply made the comment in telling our players if that person came into the room to mute them. Now, someone had to be in the room spying on what we were saying and doing in order for us to be reported, or the Moderators were watching our chat.
All the admins, head tds and tds go out of our way to be nice to everyone in our room, whether they are league members or not. But, when we do have a trouble maker, we don’t tolerate it and shouldn’t be expected to tolerate it. We all wish now we had reported that person that night since Mod_Hope was doing nothing about it, but I guess we were all so fired up over everything else, it didn’t occur to us to report them. But believe me, if that person shows up in our room again and tried to start anything, they will be reported.
We appreciate all your support in this and we hope this is the end! So wish us luck as we try to continue to do our tourneys.
One more thing about our Name That Tune format…..they now say we can do it but we can only put in chat the first 2 lines of the song. Can you imagine trying to guess a song title from 2 lines?? That is too funny.
