Big Sea Games Timeline

by Lure on August 14, 2009

Take note of the latest article from Big Fish Games about the launch of Big Sea Games. It goes over day-by-day steps you can do to prepare for the launch so that your transition will go smoothly. Most important from that article is this, the timeline for the actual launch day:

Tuesday, August 18, 2009:

  • 6:00 AM to 9:00 AM Pacific Time – The countdown begins. Enjoy the final hours of the Big Fish Game Community website or the Game Community Beta. This is also your last chance to register an account. After this, if you want to play on Big Sea Games, you will be placed on a wait list. Remember, if you have multiple accounts, sign in to the account that has the game progress you want and play one last game.
  • 9:00AM Pacific Time – Both the Big Fish Game Community and the Game Community Beta will go offline. Make sure to follow our progress on Facebook!
  • Currently we expect the change over to take no more then 5 or 6 hours. Once the site is up you will be able to reach it at www.bigseagames.com
  • Make sure to update your bookmarks when you arrive at your new home!

See you on Big Sea Games!

This answers a lot of the questions I’ve been getting lately about what time on the 18th we’ll be able to play. Given that the changeover will take no more than 5-6 hours, you can probably safely check around 3pm PST/6pm EST, though the site may be available before that if you must must must be one of the first online.

6 crkey August 15, 2009 at 8:53 am

What time will it be available for cst (central time)?

7 Lure August 15, 2009 at 9:20 am

For those of you who need help converting time zones, google it. There are a ton of web sites that will do the math for you.

dee: while I may be among the first to know when the site’s up and online, I’ll probably be here updating the web site (and BadgeHungry) mostly with a window open to one of the games that I can switch to when I’m not busy. :) Haven’t decided what I want to play first, though.

8 itsme07 August 15, 2009 at 9:50 am

crkey Pacific Time is four hours behind Central Time.
6AM PT =10AM CST

Lure – thanks for posting this info – lots of confusion still as to gamer preparation for play. When info shows here its official
I’ll be right there with Debi, I also think I must, must, MUST be one of the first.

jane I have read in the BFG forums that Pacific Time is 8 hrs behind England.
or England is 8 hrs ahead of Pacific Time time.

Have a Great Weekend!
(Crossing my fingers the transition goes smoothly for Big Fish/Big Sea)

I was slowly typing away when Lure posted did not mean to sound like a smarty pants —Have a Great One!

10 Lori August 15, 2009 at 11:31 am

Actually 6:00 am pst = 8:00 am cst I live in IL and my aunt lives in CA…she is always 2 hours behind us.

12 crkey August 15, 2009 at 2:12 pm

Thank you for time info.

13 melonball August 15, 2009 at 2:23 pm

If you live in AZ or IN, you are really messed up with the time — don’t ask me what time it will be in those places, cuz it always confuses me! lol

14 jackdragon August 16, 2009 at 4:54 am

melonball i am in queensland and 6pm on the 18th will be 8am on the 19th – hope that helps a little

15 jackdragon August 16, 2009 at 4:58 am

found this site hope it helps – http://www.timeanddate.com/worldclock/custom.html?sort=0

it tells you the time all over the world at the time you are now

16 itsme August 16, 2009 at 9:16 am

Thanks for the correction Lori – I was computing my time EDT 3 hrs ahead of PT (BFG time) and my sisters CT one hour behind me- that equaled four in my mind. Should have computed from her time. Sorry for the misinformation.
TWO more days!

17 Merry Molly August 16, 2009 at 10:24 am

I have my BFG bookmarked. I was wondering if the same bookmark will work or is it a new site.

18 Lure August 16, 2009 at 10:39 am

Merry Molly: your bookmark will work for a while (they’ll have a prominent link to the new site probably forever), but once the site is launched you’ll want to bookmark bigseagames.com.

19 Merry Molly August 16, 2009 at 11:50 am

Thanks Lure. Well it’s finally here. I remember crabbing about the new site not being on this last winter. Time does fly though. I am so hyped, can’t wait.

20 dee August 17, 2009 at 5:03 am

Tomorrow is the BIG SEA DAY!!!! can’t wait! What to play first is the big question!

25 Turks August 17, 2009 at 1:37 pm

Lure,

Are you going to change the name of this site or leave it as it is?

26 Lure August 17, 2009 at 1:41 pm

Turks: Haha, I think I’ve answered that question in the comments of every post I’ve made in the past month. :P

I’ll be leaving this site the same as it is. A lot of people know this site by name and to make sure everyone knows where to go to find the best info, it’ll stay bigfishgamer.com.

27 AMM August 17, 2009 at 1:51 pm

Thank you jackdragon the web site was very helpfull to me as I liv in uk

32 charlie August 18, 2009 at 9:42 am

To answer those who were wondering if the big fish bookmark would still work I would imagine there will be a permanent link across. My bookmark for big fish games is still the old http://www.ionthunder.com link and it automatically goes across – and its 2 or 3 years since ion thunder was absorbed into big fish

33 Prince Draxx August 18, 2009 at 6:39 pm

As usual it would seem that they have misunderestimated how long it will take them to do something. lol Only question I have is why did they have to take it down at all.

34 Ruth D. Orr August 18, 2009 at 11:04 pm

Stupied new Big Fish Games won’t allow me to sign in. My ISP is no longer the same as when I joined. Won’t even allow me to join as a new member because “email address sounds familiar”! Back to Pogo.

35 cindy1956 August 19, 2009 at 7:21 am

Is anyone else having problems signing in? I click on the new web site and it just hangs…

36 Sweething1950 August 19, 2009 at 7:50 am

When will the games be up again?

37 lindaelston August 19, 2009 at 9:18 am

why can “t I get in game site trying for 4 hours and nothing is a lousy way to start new game site

38 Jackie Kyle August 19, 2009 at 11:00 pm

Well………what an experience I’ve had with the NEW BigSea games, ugh. What a disappointment. I cannot believe they DO NOT have any Lightening Bingo games AT all. OMG, bingo has been the mainstay of any gaming site i’ve played on the last 12 years. There is no way to see where your friends are on line, you can see them come and go but that’s it folks. Lure, sorry for your problems on your double accounts. Luckily I did not have but one and I was ALL there. Lots of glitches, but worked through it and ppl on friends list have never heard of. Hope all gets straightened out SOON.

39 SueEtte August 22, 2009 at 9:44 pm

I am soooooo disappointed. I’ve played Riddle O’ Day one time on Thursday night and since then, I can’t even get into any of the games. It lists hundreds of people playing in the game rooms, don’t know how they got in cause I can’t. Does anybody know when they will get this straightened out?
Thanks.

40 honeyhorse August 26, 2009 at 2:37 pm
