Hi jackdragon! I’ll admit I never played the original enough to know how many courses there were (though I played enough to know that there were enough to keep me busy!) — I’ll pop into a beta room today and ask for you. Hang tight. :)

it doesnt save my progress when i unlock new holes in beta…. what should i do/who should i contact to get it fixed

dlo: normally I think you’d report them on the beta forums, but they are down for me right now. For later: it’s on the beta site, under Community, then drill down to the appropriate forum and leave your bug report there.

I guess you could leave a message under “Help” for customer service, but I don’t think that’d end up in the right place. Not sure, though.

As an aside, I’d really prefer a better way to report bugs than a forum (it seems too wide-open and I’d be embarrassed if I re-posted a previously known bug because I didn’t sift through 20 pages of other bug reports submitted by other users), but that’s the way it is I guess.

jackdragon: I just compared the list from the live site to the beta — all of the courses are the same, no more no less. I don’t know if BFG has plans to add more courses or not.

hey lure, i am such an idiot, but i lost your screenname on gcbeta. Can you provide it again?

6 Lure July 7, 2009 at 3:30 pm

Jake: bigfishgamer_com is my username on the beta. On the live site it’s Lure. Feel free to add me!

(PS: I don’t post messages about the status of the beta site here as it tends to go up and down without notice.)

thanks Lure for you quick response and hope you enjoying the golf lol

still thinks beta is going to be a christmas present for us all

Uh, one problem, lure. To the best of my knowledge the only way to friend somone is if you see them in a game, using betas site. Am I missing something? Will you use the name Lure when the site becomes active for all?

P.S. I am not Jake Peavy. That is a screen name. Peavy himself is a talented pitcher for my favorite team, the San Diego Padres.

Jake: Jake Peavy or not, I’m still going to call you Jake. :) There is a way to friend someone without seeing them in-game — I’ll drop you an email on how to do it on the beta site. I’d rather not confuse non-beta people by linking stuff here that they won’t be able to access.

When the site goes live, I will be known as Lure, just as I am on the live site right now. (The beta is a separate, temporary account from your regular BFG username, whether you have the same username on beta or not.) On the live site, you can add me now: just go to your My Friends page and scroll to the bottom. Add “Lure” and you’re set! :)

breaking news! I have heard a rumor from one of the ion people that the tentative release date for the new site is………… (spoiler alert)

july 23rd. Now this is only a rumor so dont kill the messanger if i am wrong.

11 Lure July 10, 2009 at 3:52 pm

jake: wouldn’t that be awesome? Thanks so much for bringing it up here, but that’s just a rumor (and a false one at that). July 23 just isn’t possible, especially after the fire. (That very well may have been the planned launch date before the fire… hmmm.) I talked to one of my contacts today and he wouldn’t give any kind of date, just stated that the fire set them back a few weeks. :(

I’m going to update my personal release date prediction to be “maybe August”.
