There are a couple rumors floating about in chat these days, so I thought I’d go investigate a little today to get some more insight on what’s really going on.
I’ve been hearing for a few weeks now about a new magical creature in the Riddle O’Day forest: a phoenix worth a whole lot of tokens. This harks back to last Spring’s red queen rumor (and gold unicorn rumor, et cetera). I’ve said it before, and I’ll say it again: screenshot or it didn’t happen!
Jewel Quest was removed from the site. I didn’t get a lot of information about this, but it’s true that the game is gone. It had to do with the game being under contractual obligations so it had to be removed. If you’re really missing it, you can still play Jewel Quest at Shockwave.
And finally, a bit of great news: Big Fish seems to have made a New Year’s Resolution that will benefit us all! Starting this week, they plan to release one new game a week. The first new game might even be released today.

remember they released a new game a week a few years ago but they stopped that cause they said they was going to have badges for us
I know I used to get the game club newsletter as I tested out Riddle …..oh well — yippee a new game– I knew you would know and or find out if there was a new item in Riddle. Why is this type so small or will it be small on the site screen?
dee: For what it’s worth, “badges” are definitely coming… I can guarantee it! They’ll be ‘trophies’ and ‘scorecards’ for each game. It seems like it’ll be a while, though; it’s not really fleshed out very well at the moment.

I also had been wondering about the badges that were mentioned awhile back. Now that they are definitely going to happen, will they be for paying members only?
Claudia: at this point, I’m not even sure they’re “badges”. All I know is that there will be an “achievements” system in place and you’ll have “trophies” and a “scorecard”. As soon as I’ve got more information — like screenshots or more definitive details — I’ll be posting them.
Are these going to be downloadable games? I hope not all of them will be, I can’t afford to buy too much.

Yippee, yippee, yippee! I have been so eager for new content on Big Fish Game Community for ages now! For the early part of last year the new games kept coming fast and steady and it was great. But since early August not a thing. I was worried that we had been forgotten. It is so great to have so much new and fun things ahead on the site. I am so interested to see them! And I think the badges or whatever will be a nice added fun way to strive for something while playing. And if they really did add new things every TWO WEEKS…well, WOW!!
I can’t wait either!! I was waiting to renew my membership until they have “badges” or some kind of achievements…I went ahead and did it anyway…I hate those advertisements.

As one of the beta testers in the new format games at BF I can tell you that yes, there are badges of sorts – each game has its own different level badge something like the newest game BF now has in the game community (Lost Temple of Gold). Released yesterday was the new beta version of Riddle O’Day. Oh my.. you guys are going to love it!! New creatures.. and other things.. I won’t spoil the surprise. ;-) So far I’ve really been VERY happy with all the games that are undergoing facelifts at the beta site.
What ever happened to Bigfish’s “New Year’s Resolution” (that was posted in January), a new game every week?
