Thank you Lure, your work is AMAZING, you must be a Genius :-). Truly, Thank You and anyone who contributed to the list and has helped in the game rooms. Maddy had the 3 I was going to contribute. L.O.B.E. is a wonderous game.
BigFishGamer is a great site.

Anyone know of any hints/solutions out there for the the EQUATIONS puzzle (genious level)?

3 sharon July 5, 2008 at 6:35 pm

I can not get pass the level on see what you can. It states something to the effect these became worth more than 10 when jess signed them with a pen, help

4 shannonsmith July 6, 2008 at 9:22 am

hi i was wondering if you were ever going to put answers to any of the other puzzles like grid words or logic line things like that
thanks

5 Lure July 6, 2008 at 10:02 am

Shannon – I’m sure we could come up with something. Do you have any idea of an easy way to format the answers? The key to these answer pages (and getting many answers from the community, instead of me having to get them all myself) is to have an easy way to submit the answers, plus an easy-to-understand format for the answers. I haven’t come up with anything for those other puzzles yet (but I’m also not the biggest fan of LOBE either, so I haven’t played much).

6 Lure July 6, 2008 at 9:40 pm

Thanks everyone, I hope to have the list updated and corrected tomorrow. In addition, I’m going to remove the comments on this post that contribute additional ciphrases as I have added them to the master list, which you can always find here:

http://www.bigfishgamer.com/lobe-ciphrase-answers/

I guess I’m not the only one that had problems with LOBE. I had timed out 5 times (ate dinner, went for ice cream yadda yadda) and came back to play, and I had lost my progress everytime..! I’m only at Halfwit, but I was at Halfwit3 and everytime I was put back to Halfwit1.. Why’d it do that..? Is there any way that bigfish will account for alot of people that are upset, and lots don’t want to play the game now… Either way it’s fun and can play it for hours, but we are playing for a reason, and that’s not to lose tokens. It’s to win them..

8 chuckywidow July 7, 2008 at 3:05 am

9 charliesmithchel July 7, 2008 at 9:14 am

Hi Lure, I think this has moved from being a list of ciphrase answers to a list of phrases that people know – still who knows – big fish could put some of them on in the future!

10 ltlmrmd July 7, 2008 at 9:25 am

Thanks for doing this!! This is one I had today.

Living on borrowed time.

11 Lure July 7, 2008 at 9:55 am

Charles, I agree — I’m going to do a little quality control today. Sigh!

12 ms_gopher July 7, 2008 at 11:35 am

By the way. I could get no where with this game yesterday. Every time I made a new rank it put me back to where I started the day. If it keeps this up, I will quit this game!

13 panda July 7, 2008 at 3:38 pm

NOOOOOOOOO i find it hard to use now to find the answers with the numbers i liked the other way where you just had the answers . now its just confuses me where to find them

14 Lure July 7, 2008 at 6:57 pm

Is anyone else having an issue like Panda is? ^^

Panda, I thought it’d save time this way. Instead of having to count the number of words in the Ciphrase and then looking up the individual words’ letter-counts, you just look up the first word’s letter count and move words/digits from there.

15 Vadalyn July 8, 2008 at 9:15 am

I’ve a good tip for the logic line if anyone needs it. I’ve noticed that everytime I play it, the boys are always first in line and then the girls. Just put the boys in first then the girls and go from there. It’s made the time solving the puzzle go much faster for me.

16 granr July 8, 2008 at 10:09 am

For anyone who is having problems with losing rankings, there is a ‘report a problem’ area on the first page of the game. Just tell Big Fish. I had the same problem on Farm 51 and they fixed it.

17 Anne M Witmer July 8, 2008 at 8:57 pm

Have a tip for DOTS on L.O.B.E.

Use smallest shapes first, cover all the 2s you can, then work your way out using the shapes as they get larger.

Couldn’t find general tip or comment page. Hope this gets to a tip site.

18 Pam Butler July 9, 2008 at 1:40 am

4 4 4 3 6 4 7 is incorrect – should be

ONCE MORE UNTO THE BREACH DEAR FRIENDS

19 ZilverWizzard July 9, 2008 at 2:10 am

The ciphrases would be easier to find if u add a “find” button where you type the numbers and the prase comes up (more orless like you can do in excel. Just an idea.

20 Natalie17 July 9, 2008 at 7:10 am

7-6 Floatsam Jetsam

21 Lure July 9, 2008 at 8:45 am

ZilverWizzard – your web browser has a built-in find feature. If you’re using Firefox, hit control-F, for example. Usually browsers keep this feature under the “Edit” dropdown menu as well. :)

22 charliesmithchel July 9, 2008 at 11:04 am

Lure – the 4 4 4 3 6 4 7 one is once more INTO the breach in the game – they have misquoted – the correct quote is unto but thats not what theyve used

23 Lure July 9, 2008 at 11:37 am

Thanks Charlie and everyone for your help, contributions, clarifications, et cetera!

24 charliesmithchel July 9, 2008 at 12:52 pm

Unfortunately they’ve changed the mouse untrap game – the left to right use of the directionals no longer works!

Until they change it – for anyone having problems with the logic – whatever the words say using the people in the following order, where they appear, seems to work every time

Ben Ned Will Zack Luke Ian Jill Mae Dee Sue Fern Barb

25 Angie July 9, 2008 at 10:52 pm

Why did they have to change the mouse untrap game? I was just getting it figured out, and now, I am lost all over again. I liked it when you could use the directionals from left to right. That helped me figure it out.

26 charliesmithchel July 10, 2008 at 3:56 am

Theyve changed the logic one as well – the line given above no longer works

27 Sore Eyes July 10, 2008 at 9:24 am

Tried to add a new phrase but it takes me to Outlook and I don’t use it. If someone here could add :” A house divided cannot stand”.? I just got it and it’s not on the list. tx.

And by the way, yes it’s a shame they changed the mouse stick n arrows order. I fugured it out myself last week, was so trilled to pass along the tip to help others. Even with the tip some had probs, and now… * sigh*
Come on guys, I know it’s a brain game, but with the chat section it’s also a friends reaching out and helping friends thing…

28 Sore Eyes July 10, 2008 at 9:35 am

Either that was fast… or I missed it this morning. Anyway, thx. This site is way better than the “show me” button as a last resort.

29 Donna July 10, 2008 at 9:50 pm

I was just wondering if anybody else was having a problem while in L.O.B.E. when it states that someone else has progressed to another level and everyone in that room wins a certain amount of points, that it’s not adding the point s to your total.

30 tripsfun July 10, 2008 at 10:37 pm

Donna, I watched it a couple of times recently because I started wondering if I was getting them or not, too. It adds the amount to your overall total shown in chat, not in the amount you are trying to accumulate during that session in the brain. Another way to explain – it is added on the right in the Tokens section, and not the left in the Game total. Check it out, but after seven tests, mine was right.

31 Kathy Fuller July 11, 2008 at 6:04 pm

I just finished a genius game of mouse untrap. I could not figure it out so i hit the show me button. I was surprised to see the answer was wrong. I don’t know if you can check which game I played. Just thought I would let you know.

32 doublemint22 July 11, 2008 at 11:19 pm

i have also noticed that on genius mouse untrap when i finally give up and say SHOW ME, that the solution they show has the mouse running off the screen.. so it is absolutely wrong.. and all i got for my trouble was a big red X on my brain. if the puzzle wasnt solvable its frustrating to lose the tokens and my hour of time trying to solve it. thats just my 2 cents.

33 itsme07(Barbara) July 12, 2008 at 9:21 am

I haven’t noticed the genius mouse untrap glitch that gives a wrong answer(that would fry my brain) but I did 2 today that did leave at least one directional. I wish they had not changed the procedure, it is just a game after all. Riddlers think “we” are being watched, perhaps the Mouse Untrap game proves this theory…;>
Thanks again, Lure.

34 _jc_ July 14, 2008 at 5:57 pm

yes, Donna! had same problem with not earning team tokens. I sent an email to the comment section…

35 Misteeblu July 14, 2008 at 6:11 pm

Just finished playing one game of ciphrase and it ended up being “Know which way the wind blow” instead of blows. This is the second time I have run into an error.

36 clogger034 July 15, 2008 at 9:24 am

this in response to granr….I too lost my rank in BigFish Slots – I went from Manta8 down to Guppy1. I reported it..got an answer back saying they would look into it. Got another email asking if my problem had been resolved and if so to click on something……Well my problem has not been resolved. I still want to know why I lost my rank and why nothing has been done about it?????

37 Lure July 15, 2008 at 10:16 am

Misteeblu, if I recall correctly, both the correct and incorrect (“blow” and “blows) phrases are used in the game.

38 itsme07(Barbara) July 15, 2008 at 12:55 pm

You are right Lure, both phrases are used.
Played L.O.B.E. this morning, finished game, took note of final token score (overall), returned just now to play again and game site total token score is 12,369 tokens short of what was accomplished in the morn. Wrote support and now waiting for reply, came here to find out if there was a problem between AM and PM, see nothing to indicate huge glitch in system. It is a drag to have to keep a tally of the tokens, as I originally noted problem with the tallying..also did tests and figured things out, but this is the second largest loss of tokens in less than a month. I have only kept track of tokens in L.O.B.E. TC and GL E1.

39 charliesmithchel July 15, 2008 at 3:25 pm

if you move up a rank in lobe when opening brains it doesnt immediatley add to overall score – you need to play one more game to get it added -this may be your prob barbara – ive pointed this out to big fish and got no reply!!

40 itsme07(Barbara) July 16, 2008 at 4:09 am

Charlie, I have noticed and learned to ignore that peculiar twist in the game, but, thanks for the thought. My prob, and it happened again yesterday, is a total loss of tokens earned. Stubbornly played again thinking all was well and the tokens earned in the game did not jive with the chat room token total, left game with the chat room total only. Still waiting for a reply. Perhaps, the latest twist is the need to keep tabs of token totals….boring ;-)

41 Misteeblu July 16, 2008 at 2:52 pm

This am in LOBE was very interesting. I went in as Student 5 with 272 mil tokens, played one lobe in puzzle, rewarded with Einstein 9 and gave me 334,380,511 tokens. Put me over 6 mil. Then it said next rank would be at “0″ points. Quite a jump so emailed Big Fish to see if they put me back.
Almost afraid to play rest of day just in case they dont give me ANY tokens today!!

42 itsme07(Barbara) July 16, 2008 at 3:46 pm

Well Done Misteeblu!!!!!!!!
You are a good person, I am not sure I would have e-mailed. :-)
I am still waiting for a reply from the Big Fish but I am now being awarded tokens, and keeping them. Found a “glitch” of sorts-the chalk board sometimes does not give the right token award, but the games computer does. One instance I won a double bonus of 900 tokens, chalk board claimed I only won 219,which was even less than the original amount to be awarded. I never even paid attention to that “stuff” before. Also noticed, once the game you were playing is finished, if you do not keep playing, the game board will continue to tally the other players “contributions”, but will not tally on your score, in the chat room.
I am still looking for the tokens I lost yesterday. I also went to another Prodigy level today, without filling in the
“bar”, not sure what that means, or how it will come out later. L.O.B.E. is a fun game, but keeping track is not amusing.

43 Erma July 18, 2008 at 1:42 am

Did not see this on the list (this day 7/18/08).

3-4-2-1-4-5
Too much of a good thing.

44 Elaine July 18, 2008 at 6:23 am

A lot of people have asked the same question in the L.O.B.E. room and I’ve checked the dictionary but not such word exists in there…..what is or are DRUTHERS??? Nobody seems to know so can we at least understand what some of these words mean or look them up in the dictionary to find their meaning? Please use REAL words that we can all understand, not made up words that nobody knows the meaning of???
Had a few problems with mouse untrap but haven’t noticed whether I was wrong or the directional arrows and sticks used were wrong…will check from now on if I can’t work them out!! Great game but sometimes I get the same puzzle 2 or 3 times in one game. Maybe it’s the same as SLOTS, the glitches and freezing that happens in there is still happening and it couldn’t possibly be ALL our PC’s that are at fault!?!?!
Hope you can get back to us with some answers?? Thanks Bigfish team…great work on the games but please sort out the glitches?

45 Elaine July 18, 2008 at 7:07 am

I just had a Grid Words puzzle but didn’t have a full list of words to find….had some letters left over which I made into a word and got my tokens but this is not the first time it’s happened to me. I don’t mind if it’s easy to find the words, even on genius level but a full list of words would help! LOL
Just thought you should know this has happened so your team can check it out.
Great game team!
Thanks,
Elaine.

46 wasagagirl July 18, 2008 at 7:21 am

totally love playing L.O.B.E …. yes there may be a few glitches here and there and yes it can be pretty annoying but overall the game makes you think …….sometimes long and hard ( a long time since i have done that lol) i guess my only grump is that crazy cheesy little monster mouse ..grrrrrrrr just taken me weeks to do one set on Gen

anyway i moaned enough for one day so keep up the good work

47 Lure July 18, 2008 at 9:16 am

Elaine: here’s an explanation of “druthers”. It’s an American slang contraction that’s not really used often, except in the cliche used in LOBE.

http://www.randomhouse.com/wotd/index.pperl?date=19960809

48 beho July 18, 2008 at 5:18 pm

I wonder if it would be possible to put a our solution button in the games on LOBE. I would love to see what the correct answer was just in case I came up with a different way to solve it.

49 charliesmithchel July 19, 2008 at 2:36 am

a lot of the puzzles there are more than one way to solve – especially the e-quations and logic lines

50 charliesmithchel July 19, 2008 at 8:09 am

hit the dots and happy trails also sometimes have alternate solutions and of course there are usually loads of answers to triwords!

51 Elaine July 19, 2008 at 10:46 am

Thanks Lure for the link to explain what ‘druthers’ means! Now, even those from the USA who didn’t know it’s meaning or origin will understand. I’m from Australia and had never heard of the word before and neither had a lot of others in the L.O.B.E. game, so thanks again!
Keep up the good work team!!
PS: Here is the meaning of the word ‘DRUTHERS’ = choice or preference, so now we all know…thanks Lure!!

Help with “MOUSE UNTRAP” Game …

I did not know where else to post this in regards to the Mouse Untrap Game so I am posting it here. (If there is another forum, please let me know)

Over the last few weeks, I have been collecting solved puzzles to the Mouse Untrap game – with the help of a few others from the room I frequent. I have made screen shots of the games completed and have posted them in a photo bucket site. Here is the link:
http://s327.photobucket.com/albums/k460/Aardvarks-UnTrap/
The games are sorted so if you are looking for your game to help solve it so you do not have to take the dreaded Big Red “X”, you would look to see where your mouse STARTS the game. That would be either Top, Bottom, Left or Right side of the game board. When you load up this link, you will see 4 ALBUMS on the left side. Click on the album name of where your mouse starts. Once at that album, you just click from one screen to the next to see if your game has been added.
I have almost 400 games posted in there so far and each morning I add what has been collected the day before. I know not every game is in there – but it is worth the look if you really want to get all the stars possible without taking a red “X”.
If anyone wants to help collect these screen shots, you can send them to this email address: domme@comcast.net
Please do not CROP or resize the screen shots. I will do that so they are all uniform in size and quality.
Good luck and see you in the game rooms!
~Aardvark~

53 Peggi July 19, 2008 at 1:48 pm

238 on clip phase answer is
IN THE DOLDRUMS

54 Lure July 19, 2008 at 11:04 pm

Thansk Aardvark! I’ll put together a post tomorrow about your images!

55 CherryBear aka Bear July 20, 2008 at 9:30 am

I noticed yesterday a major glitch in the mouse untrap game. I had an extra piece of cheese that didn’t pertain to the puzzle at all. Took me a couple of games to figure out this was happening. It was one row in from the bottom right, and four rows up. Did anyone else have this little glitch? It cost me a game on one because of that stray piece of cheese being in an out of reach spot.

56 ellemenope July 20, 2008 at 10:14 am

Hi…gotta say I love this site, thanks, Lure! Today I had the ciphrase “Once more into the breach dear friends” and everything worked except I had a letter “U” and the “I” from “into” wouldn’t fit into the “friends” spot. Anyone else have this happen? I was bummed because I had to take that big ol’ X! LOL

57 ellemenope July 20, 2008 at 10:16 am

OH! It’s once more Unto the breach dear friends. Sorry, Lure..elle

58 Lure July 20, 2008 at 12:12 pm

elle it’s a common frustration for a lot of us, that big fish has used common cliched phrases incorrectly. no apologies needed!

59 charliesmithchel July 20, 2008 at 12:16 pm

Correct quote is “unto” but i have never seen that in ciphrases only the incorrect “into” but of course i havent seen every phrase (probably by a long way).

Haven’t seen anyone else mentiuon it anywhere yet but if you get a “-” as a letter in tri-words the word they are looking for is jell-o

60 charliesmithchel July 20, 2008 at 12:17 pm

Hey Lure you changed your last comment while I was typing the one above! lol

61 Lure July 20, 2008 at 12:20 pm

I’m sneaky like that. *wink*

62 ladyfromozdee July 20, 2008 at 4:47 pm

bigfish all your games are great. Hope we some new games. Keep up the GREAT work.

63 Aardvark (Teresa) July 22, 2008 at 4:34 am

Hi Lure…
Thank you for the link to the MOUSE UNTRAP you posted for me. I would ask that you edit that to include “Be sure to leave your screen shots FULL SIZE” when you send them. I ask this because I would like to do the editing myself taht way they are all uniform when I post them in the albums.

By the way – there are well over 400 screen shots there now! THANKS TO ALL WHO ARE SENDING THEM IN TO CONTRIBUTE!!

~Aardvark~
(Teresa)

64 Lure July 22, 2008 at 7:09 am

Updated, thanks Teresa!

65 sharon July 22, 2008 at 9:45 am

Can anyone tell me how to do a screen shot. I used to know how to do this but have forgotten. Thanks

66 Larry July 22, 2008 at 4:57 pm

4-4-4-3-6-4-7 Once more into the breach dear friends
should be corrected to Once More Unto the breach my friend

67 charliesmithchel July 23, 2008 at 4:14 pm

Lure – I have now seen BOTH “Once more INTO the breach dear friends” AND “Once more UNTO the breach dear friends” so think you should have both in your list

68 Lure July 24, 2008 at 8:05 am

Hi Charlie,

Out of frustration, I added them both the other day. I figured it may stop the deluge of INTO vs. UNTO posts. :)

69 loves_her_life July 26, 2008 at 5:35 pm

72 chelle77084 July 27, 2008 at 11:40 am

I couldn’t find the proper place to put this, so excuse me if I should not post it here, but it is L.O.B.E. help.

For Tri-words, you can go to an anagram site and put in all the letters you have and get the answers that will work. I use
http://home.broadpark.no/~anagram/
which also lets me specify that I want 3 words only, that way all combos are 3 words long.

73 Meknockem July 27, 2008 at 3:16 pm

For the Americans *lol*

1-6-2-7-5 A knight in shining armor

on the master list you have:

1-6-2-7-6 A knight in shining armour

74 amjaaljo August 6, 2008 at 11:24 am

1-6-2-7-6 A knight in shining armour : should be 1-6-2-7-5
A knight in shining armor..

75 Sassygirlpa August 6, 2008 at 11:56 am

6-3-1-2 Suffer the consequences-this is incorrect. I had 6-3-1-3 which is FOREVER AND A DAY

76 Jordan August 7, 2008 at 12:18 am

The one that says 1-6-2-7-6 i think is supposed to be 1-6-2-7-5…its supposed to be “a knight in shining armor”

77 Gladys August 7, 2008 at 5:30 am

I found one that is almost the same as one there except last word is spelled differently. 1-6-2-7-5 “A KNIGHT IN
SHINING ARMOR” . The one on the list already is
1-6-2-7-6 “A KNIGHT IN SHINING ARMOUR”. (This is for the game LOBE, a fantastic game, best one yet. Thankyou.) Hope this helps, I know I really appreciate being able to look CiPhrases on the page when I just can’t get the answer. I only use it as a last resort. Thanks again for the hints. I grew up in Newfoundland, Canada where we used a British or English Dictionary-thus the spelling armour. The American Dictionary spells it armor. Aug.7,2008

78 Lure August 7, 2008 at 9:19 am

Both “A knight in shining armor” and “A knight in shining armour” are on the master list and both have shown up in-game. Thanks to everyone who pointed this out.

Sassygirl – thanks for your fixes — 1-2 was supposed to be “12″ and I added your contribution.

4-4-4-3-6-4-7 once more unto the breach dear friends (where do they get these?)

80 MrsB August 15, 2008 at 12:57 pm

MsBB,
I am familiar with most of the Ciphrases. There are a lot that are from Shakespeare. The one you refer to is from Henry V. It’s a reference to war.

A tip for Gridwords

Usually there is seven words, five in on direction and two in the other direction.
If you for example get these words,
EARTH
ORGAN
ALONE
ANKLE
LEAST
LEVEL
NOOSE

You will notice that ALONE fits in the first column, then you fill in the raws whith the words ANKLE ORGAN NOOSE EARTH. Now you have the letters for LEVEL left, fill in them and the word LEAST will apear in the fourth column.
I hope you´ll understand my English.

85 comfy_cozy August 28, 2008 at 5:31 am

I found a ciphrase not listed! Back To The Drawing Board!
42375
Thank You!
I also have a tip for Gridwords, Its my favorite! Find the one letter that 2 words share then cross those 2 words using that letter. All the other words fall in nicely!
Good Luck!

86 Candy August 31, 2008 at 2:32 am

Just to help you guys, Logic line is as simple as taking candy from a baby, look for the 2 that saye he or she is not next to somebody, place them in the beginning, and take it from there, some timesyou have to change the first 2 around but keep them in the front.

Heres a new ciphrase WHEN THE CAT IS AWAY THE MOUSE WILL PLAY

104 Roxanne January 31, 2009 at 6:33 am

Good morning- I found a new answer for ciphrase.
7-1-8-3-1-6-2 NEITHER A BORROWER NOR A LENDER BE.
That one kept me going for a while. I really enjoy your site.
Thanks- Roxanne

I love your Ciphrase lists. I have a suggestion for improvement: include name tags for different levels in the list and links to move down the page and back to the top. I suggest using the first two numbers for the links as some lists are very long. This will be less than 70 links.

I have an Excel spreadsheet to solve Logic Line that I am willing to share. It uses macros, but I can sign a certificate of authenticity for publishing it.

I can write up instructions for solving Grid Words and Equations if you would like to publish them. I was also thinking of creating videos for solving these puzzles as well.

Thanks Dave! I’d be happy to work with you to publish your instructions and/or videos on this site, or link to a site of your choosing. Feel free to email me (lure@bigfishgamer.com) whenever!
